Michael Cassidy to speak at IBC

Michael Cassidy African EnterpriseOn Wednesday 31 October at 7:30 pm, IBC is hosting Michael Cassidy, who will be giving a talk entitled “Looking Backwards, Looking Forwards.” This is a great opportunity to hear this renowned international speaker and Christian leader. Michael is the Founder of African Enterprise (AE), and has been involved in evangelism, teaching and leadership ministries for 50 years. This year he was named Honorary Chairman of the global Lausanne Movement for world evangelization, succeeding the late Rev. Dr. John R.W. Stott in this position.

Michael Cassidy has been instrumental in calling several major gatherings of church leaders, and has been involved in South Africa in behind-the-scenes facilitation of key initiatives. These efforts have been widely acknowledged as important contributions to the miraculously peaceful South African election in April 1994.

Michael has written numerous books, including A Witness For Ever – The Dawning of Democracy in South Africa, which recounts much of the work of some of the backstage players in the run-up to South Africa’s 1994 election, as well as a two-month devotional called Michael Cassidy’s Window on the Word. He has most recently written Getting to the Heart of Things – Reflections on Christian Basics and What On Earth Are You Thinking for Heaven’s Sake?

The talk at IBC Brussels is open to anyone. African refreshments will be provided afterwards. Pick-up from Kraainem metro from 7 pm.

Michael Cassidy is also speaking on Tuesday 30 October at the Evangelical Theological Faculty (ETF), Heverlee. The talk, entitled “The church Jesus prayed for: a personal journey into John 17” is aimed at pastors, elders and deacons.
